As the start of the school year was around the corner in August 2020, swimming practices were planned to start as well.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, all pools were closed, so high school and college students couldn’t practice how they normally would.
Luckily, one of the swimmer’s family members lives on Saginaw Bay in Bay City. They allowed for a group of swimmers to meet one day a week to practice while the pools remained closed.
While swimming in a lake is much different than a pool, the team said they were grateful to be able to keep up their strength and practice regularly.
